SOUTH KOREAN PRESIDENT ACCEDES TO PUBLIC OPINION, WILL RESIGN|百萬人上街怒吼 朴槿惠鬆口願辭職下台

In South Korea, 5 large-scale protests to date have taken place following the political scandal surrounding president Park Geun-hye and her confidante Choi Soon-sil. Yesterday, in Park's third national address since the scandal erupted, she finally offered to resign and left her exit arrangement to the parliament. She said that once measures are in place to transition power in a way that creates minimum impact, she will step down. For five consecutive weekends, South Koreans took to the street to protest against political scandals surrounding President Park Geun-hye's confidante. Once the parliament reaches an agreement on how to transfer the administration in a way that creates the minimum impact, I will step down according to legal procedure. On November 29th, President Park offered to resign in her third national talk in the Blue House. She stated that all she wanted now was for the country to get back on the right track and that she could never apologize enough for her negligence. Facing the public outcry and the impeachment motion from the opposition party, President Park finally agreed to resign on her party members' advice. The prosecutors now view her as a criminal accomplice for Choi. Losing her presidential immunity means that she will likely face long and complicated investigation procedures.
