There are just 3 days left until the US election. Some security concerns have been raised in the states of New York, Texas and Virginia, as a warning was released against Al Qaeda activity. Security was raised after the warning. On Nov. 4, federal officials warned authorities in New York City, Texas and Virginia about an unspecified threat of attacks by al Qaeda militants around Election Day. A U.S. government source said some federal agencies sent bulletins to local and state officials flagging the information but that the threat was relatively low level. The New York City Police Department said the report lacked specifics and was still being assessed. There was police presence at the locations where Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will spend election night and where Republican candidate Donald Trump will spend Tuesday night. The White House said it was aware of the reported al Qaeda threats and mindful of increased risk of attacks during events such as Election Day.The potential for election-related violence together with the threat of computer hacking and fears that Russia or other states have spread political misinformation online or may tamper with voting have all been features of this election.
