On October 26, Taipei Agricultural Products Marketing Corporation elected three standing directors at a [board of directors meeting]. However, 4 of the 7 standing directors were from the Chang faction, meaning that there will be a change for the company's presidential election. Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je was angered by the situation and asked the staffing issues to be settled as soon as possible. Taipei Agricultural Products Marketing Corporation's officer election came under the spotlight after rising vegetable prices gained public attention. On October 26, TAPMC elected three standing directors at a board of directors meeting. Taipei City Government, the Council of Agriculture and the Chang faction each secured one seat on the seven-member board of standing directors. The outcome put the city government and the council at a disadvantage in the company's presidential election because four of the seven standing directors were from the Chang faction. Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je was angered by the situation. ==KO WEN-JE, Taipei City Mayor == Vegetable prices have remained high for a long time. TAPMC should settle its staffing issues as soon as possible. The company cannot just wait and do nothing. Ko asked the company to elect a new president as soon as possible. Ko said if the problem is not resolved in a few days, Taipei City government, who owns the land where TAPMC is located, will not renew the lease contract in December. When asked whether the elected standing directors were previously decided under the table, Ko said he had met with Chang Jung-wei in private before. ==KO WEN-JE, Taipei City Mayor == I have only met with Chang Jung-wei once. It was a long time ago. (When? Did not you talk about TAPMC?) We talked about a lot of things. He told me that do not do what that the DPP told me. I said, "Why are you telling me this?". There are problems that should be resolved first. ==TUAN I-KANG, DPP legislator== I think Ko is too naïve to believe the promises given by Chang. The mayor was lagged behind. He gave all his weapons to Chang. Ko said his only demand is that the company can settle its staffing issues as soon as possible because the company's internal politics may affect people's livelihoods. He also said forming a new company to replace TAPMC will be his last resort to resolve the problem.
