TSAI WILL HOLD WEEKLY POLICY COORDINATION MEETING|蔡:下週起 每週一召開執政決策協調會議

President Tsai Ing-wen spoke at a seminar for the 20th anniversary of direct presidential election in Taiwan. In response to Taiwan's exclusion at the ICAO assembly, she reiterated that Taiwan will continue its efforts in spite of hardships and setbacks. She also announced that she will call a weekly policy coordination meeting, which will be attended by the Presidential Office, the Cabinet, the DPP caucus, and local government representatives. President Tsai Ing-wen attended a seminar for the 20th anniversary of direct presidential election in Taiwan. When asked if the Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu will join the Cabinet, she smiled without answering. In an open letter commemorating the DPP's 30th anniversary, Tsai stated that the DPP will continue to resist pressure coming from China. China's Taiwan Affairs Office has taken a hardline stance, claiming that unification is a historical certainty, and Taiwan independence, an impossibility. Tsai refered to the ICAO assembly, which Taiwan was barred from attending by China, and said that Taiwan will persist in its efforts. ==TSAI ING-WEN, ROC President== Taiwan must present itself on the world stage and face the pressure coming from China. Sure there will be many setbacks and hardships, but Taiwan will never stop. President Tsai also addressed domestic issues such as pension reform, industrial upgrade, the long-term care plan, and the "non-nuclear homeland" policy, stressing that she will shoulder all responsibility. ==TSAI ING-WEN, ROC President== We are met with a lot of pressure, so of course resistance is expected. Reform is hard, but the Taiwanese never flinch at hardships. Tsai also announced that she will call a policy coordination meeting every Monday. The meeting will be attended by the Presidential Office, the Cabinet, and the DPP. It is aimed at facilitating the government's policymaking process. She also stressed that she is committed to complete the reforms that the the DPP expects of the new adminstration.
