The Mirror TV's license granting controversy continues in the Legislative Yuan. The KMT requested that the license be revoked and NCC Chairperson Chen Yaw-shyang step down.
KMT legislators encircle National Communications Commission Chairperson Chen Yaw-shyang as they call for the resignation of the "puppet chair." There are reports that the government intervened to pressure the NCC into granting Mirror TV's application for a broadcast license. Chen attended a legislative interpellation on Oct. 5 to give a report on this application. The KMT caucus requested to speak and made several statements calling for the license to be revoked and Chen to resign. Chen's response was to ask the KMT to respect the independence of the NCC. Meanwhile, the NPP questioned who inside the NCC leaked secrets.
Chen Jiau-hua, Legislator (NPP): “Are you going to investigate who inside your NCC illegally leaked secrets? ”
Chen Yaw-shyang, NCC Chairperson: “You accused the NCC of leaking secrets right off the bat and there's no evidence of that. There was a video conference on July 16. How did the information get out? I think what you said about the NCC leaking secrets…”
Chen Jiau-hua, Legislator (NPP): “Answer me, are you going to investigate? You don't need to elaborate. ”
Chen Yaw-shyang, NCC Chairperson: “I'm not. Don't throw accusations at us.”
Chen said there wasn't sufficient evidence showing the NCC leaked secrets, and an argument ensued over the authenticity of an audio recording from a Mirror TV shareholders' meeting. Meanwhile, the KMT questioned the connection between Mirror Media and Mirror TV and why Mirror Media employees are receiving salaries from Mirror TV. It said if this is true, then the license should be revoked.
Cheng Li-wunk, Legislator (KMT): “Will it be handled within a month, or within a year? ”
Chen Yaw-shyang, NCC Chairperson: “There could be new information coming out at any time and I can't control it. ”
Cheng Li-wunk, Legislator (KMT): “You can't guarantee it will be by year end, so you can't say any time, right? It violated your own regulations for over a year. ”
Chen Yaw-shyang, NCC Chairperson: “ We only learned of this problem recently, and we have to handle it.”
Chen said more information is needed, the NCC will discuss whether to revoke the license, and an investigation is underway. He wasn't able to give a timetable as to when the investigation will conclude, saying new evidence could emerge at any time. The NPP and KMT both proposed establishing a task force to investigate the many problems surrounding Mirror TV.
藍營立委包圍NCC主委陳耀祥，大喊傀儡主委下台，近期因為鏡電視申設案，爭議吵的沸沸揚揚，陳耀祥5日到立院交通委員會，針對鏡電視的申設案專案報告，國民黨立院黨團甲動，要求程序發言，並且輪番發言，要求鏡電視撤照、陳耀祥下台，陳耀祥則是舉牌反擊，要求請尊重獨立機關，經過主席打圓場，委員會才恢復秩序，而時力立委陳椒華質詢時，持續質疑NCC洩密。
時力立委陳椒華問道：「你要不要查你們NCC內部是誰違法洩密。」陳耀祥回應：「一開始就認定是我們NCC洩密，我覺得這個證據何在，7月16日那天是一個視訊會議，訊息是怎麼出去，我覺得你一開始說NCC洩密。」陳椒華表示：「回答我，你要不要查？」陳耀祥說道：「我沒有扯東扯西，我覺得不能隨便給我們塞帽子。」
面對陳椒華的質疑，陳耀祥回應，沒有足夠證據證明是NCC洩密，雙方又為了錄音帶真偽，吵的不可開交。藍委則是針對鏡電視與鏡週刊牽連甚深，鏡週刊員工領鏡電視薪水等的爭議，要求如果屬實的話應該撤照。
國民黨立委鄭麗文問道：「是一個月之內會處理，還是一年之內。」陳耀祥回應：「隨時都有可能有資料出現，我沒有辦法把握。」鄭麗文說道：「年底之前，不是呀，你不能說隨時，他已經違反你們的規定，高達一年呀。」陳耀祥表示：「我們也是最近才掌握到這個問題，所以我們應該去處理。」
陳耀祥強調，這部分要再進行瞭解，至於是否廢止要由委員會討論，已經密集處理中，因為陸續有新事證，目前沒有把握，何時能處理完此案。對於鏡電視的諸多爭議，時力及國民黨團都臨時提案，要求成立調查小組追查。
