Democratic Progressive Party Legislator Su Cheng-ching remains in detention for corruption and taking bribes. His wife is now accusing investigators of tampering with recordings and failing to follow judicial procedure. Su's lawyer, meanwhile, says Su is on a hunger strike to prove his innocence.

The prosecutors are denying they manufactured evidence. They claim the problem is old equipment. In response to the accusations from Su's wife, Taipei prosecutors said the quality of recordings was affected by outdated equipment but no one tampered with them. Su stands accused of taking over NT$20 million in bribes in the SOGO case and is currently being detained. He previously applied for medical release for heart disease. The court approved a hospital visit, but he was returned to the detention center the same day. The deputy director of Taipei Detention Center, Lin Chien-chang, says center staff will follow protocol and try to convince Su to end his hunger strike. If their efforts fail and Su puts himself in critical condition, he will be evaluated by a doctor to determine if he requires medical treatment.

He will be taken to a hospital if needed for nutritional supplementation. This may be in the form of an IV or nutrient shots or fructose. There is precedent for this.
Su is following in the footsteps of former President Chen Shui-bian, former Yunlin County Magistrate Su Chih-fen and former Chiayi County Magistrate Chen Ming-wen, who all took up hunger strikes while in detention. All three eventually received medical treatment. Su Cheng-ching is one of many lawmakers facing charges in the Legislative Yuan corruption scandal. All say they are innocent.
講到傷心處，止不住淚水，立委蘇震清妻子廖靖汝，再度在鏡頭前露面，哽咽控訴，檢方提供的第二套偵訊錄音檔，同樣遭到變造，質疑檢調單位虛構假消息，刻意妖魔化蘇震清，委任律師也轉達蘇震清的聲明，他決定從1號開始，在看守所內絕食抗議，要捍衛自身清白。

蘇家人質疑檢調涉嫌造假偵訊錄音檔，北檢則澄清，可能因偵查庭收音設備老舊，及錄音設備操作問題，影響錄音效果，否認是人為變造，蘇震清捲入SOGO經營權案，被指控涉嫌收賄超過2千萬，案發至今仍被羈押，先前曾以心臟疾病為由，聲請戒護就醫，被台北地院裁准，當天來回。如今，他打算絕食抗爭，台北看守所副所長林建昌表示，依法規會先行勸導，如果勸導無效，不飲食引發生命危險，將由所內醫生評估，是否需要強制就醫。
台北看守所副所長 林建昌表示：「視情況會送醫，來給予強制營養這樣。他可能有施打點滴，或是打營養劑啊，葡萄糖這些。」
過往也曾經政治人物，因涉入司法案件，在看守所內絕食，包含前總統陳水扁，前雲林縣長蘇治芬，還有前嘉義縣長陳明文，三人甚至一度因絕食，導致身體不適，被強制就醫。而蘇震清絕食的抗議，會持續多久?受到關注，不過，台北地院審理立委涉賄案，目前仍無立委認罪。
