The championship game of the 38th Junior League World Series took place in the early morning, Taiwan time, on August 20. Chinese Taipei, which is the official name of the team from Taiwan, defeated Texas Jr. League team by 2-0 and won the championship for the sixth straight year.
We're really glad that we won the championship. It's also the sixth straight time that the Taiwanese team has won. All the kids in our team, including the pitchers and the hitters, have outperformed the competition.
The head coach said that the players have performed at the top of their games. Starting pitcher Huang Kuan-lun did an outstanding job in pitching and hitting, as he only allowed 5 hits by the seventh inning, and struck out six hitters. In the fifth inning, Huang hit a homerun to clinch a 2-0 lead. Back-up hitter Lee Shu-Hsun also successfully defended against the opponent to secure the win.

Team Chinese Taipei has won 7 championships since 2010, and has won six straight titles. After their latest victory, the team's representatives expressed gratitude for all who showed support. The team is scheduled to return to Taiwan on August 22.
