The 2018 World Cup quarter-final line-up has been decided after the Round of 16 concluded that featured high drama and surprises. Sweden has advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time in 24 years by scoring the only goal in its match against Switzerland. Meanwhile, England broke the penalty curse and beat Colombia 4 to 3 in the extra time. It will face Sweden in the last eight.
In the 54th minute of the game, England striker Harry Kane scored a penalty kick goal against Colombia. Kane's sixth goal of the World Cup took England to the quarterfinals.
Colombia didn't get its first chance at a corner goal until the 93rd minute, but centre-back Yerry Mina capitalized and tied the game 1-1. A penalty shootout followed, with both teams missing one of the first four attempts. England's Eric Dier slotted away the winning spot-kick in a 4-3 win as fans rejoiced.

This was England's first-ever penalty shootout win in the World Cup and it is heading to the quarterfinals for the first time in 12 years. In the other Round of 16 match, Sweden eliminated Switzerland after scoring its first goal in the 66th minute.
The shot by Swedish winger Emil Forsverg bounced off of a Swiss defender, which changed its trajectory and sent it into the top corner. Switzerland received a red card later on and ultimately lost 0-1. This will be Sweden's first appearance in the World Cup quarterfinals in 24 years.
