Far East Oil Mills Company, suspected of having used expired products to manufacture margarine and other products, apologized to the public and offered full refunds to consumers. Now the Consumer Protection Association of Taiwan is offering to organize and file a class action suit against the company, while demanding the company to provide more information such as safety certificates from the past three years. Officials from Taoyuan County Department of Health inspected the Far East Oil Mills Co. They found margarine and 19 other faulty products and sealed up the company's oil storage unit. Consumer Protection Association, Taiwan accused Far East Oil Mills Co. failed to come forward and respond until five days after the incident reported. Attorneys said, the Far East Oil Mills Co. has violated laws, but a class action lawsuit requires 20 plaintiffs or more, so the Consumer Protection Association, Taiwan is helping consumers to file legal action.
