On Dec. 21, In the absence of 20 members of the Kuomintang Central Standing Committee, KMT Chair Hung Hsiu-chiu made a decision to hold KMT leadership elections early and combine them with the party's influential Huang Fuxing delegates election. The powerful Huang Fu-xing branch is made up of retired military officials and veterans. CSC member Yao Chiang-lin filed a lawsuit against Hung at the Taipei District Court in protest of the meeting's decision. Today's CSC meeting is likely to be acrimonious. The Kuomintang Central Standing Committee has just passed a decision to advance the date of KMT leadership elections and combine them with the Huang Fuxing delegates election, which was originally free-standing. This caused internal dissatisfaction and the CSC member Yao Chiang-lin criticized that the CSC made the decision with just five members so it was not a democratic decision. He thus lodged a protest with the Taipei District Court to stop the move. He advocated adding to the numbers of Huang fuxing delegates and continued to hold their election separately.
