Residents at Taipei City's Hsing Long public housing are unhappy with several building management issues. At a community meeting yesterday, Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-Je was invited by city councilors to hear what the residents had to say. At the meeting, Ko stressed that more public housing is scheduled to accommodate 20,000 households. At the same time, an enabling statute for public housing management will be enacted to resolve building management issues. At the residents meeting, residents of the Hsing Long public housing voiced their complaints, including inconvenient garbage collection hours, smokers tossing cigarette butts on the ground, and superintendents' poor attitudes.
