Taichung in October 2014 won the bid to host the Games, which would have been the first within the Olympic family hosted by Taiwan. Over the past three years, the Taichung City has spent over NT$676 million on the preparations for the event. athletes couldn't hide their disappointment knowing the development.
Despite the news that Taichung will no longer host the 2019 East Asian Youth Games next August, Dongshan High School's girls volleyball team is training harder than ever.
One team member says she was disappointed by the news and it could have far-reaching ramifications for her future.
