Taiwan Cat Lovers' Association Finds Homes for Cats|台灣愛貓協會 每週六舉辦貓咪送養會

The Taiwan Cat Lovers' Association organizes cat adoption events on a weekly basis, hoping to find homes for stray cats.


The Taiwan Cat Lovers' Association was formed by a group of cat lovers. The primary mission of the association is to ensure the appropriate care of cats at animal shelters. In addition, it organizes a cat adoption event every Saturday.

Some people may just decide they want a cat on a whim, and we need to filter these people out. There are also times when they fail to consider what raising a cat will require, or even have unrealistic expectations for the cat, such as expectations that the cat won't scratch the sofa or jump on the bed. In these cases, when there is a big gap between expectations and reality, we prefer not to let the adoption go through.

The association not only finds homes for cats at animal shelters and protects kittens, but also helps stray cats and educates the public on how to properly take care of felines.

We hope to reduce the number of cats at animal shelters and stray cats. The association therefore participates in and supports TNR (trap-neuter-return) for cats. If you can carry out TNR on a wide scale, and manage to "T" (trap) at least 70 percent, then the stray cat population will decrease with each passing year.

Between 2011 and August 2017, the association rescued 1,720 cats. It hopes to reduce the number of stray cats roaming the streets and find permanent homes for cats that are suitable for adoption.
