The White House made a statement disagreeing with China. Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed gratitude for the U.S.'s support.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has demanded that several American airlines, including United Airlines, put Taiwan under a special category. The White House issued an official statement on May 5 expressing their opposition to the demand. Our foreign ministry would like to express gratitude for their support.

The Chinese foreign ministry sternly responded to the White House statement on May 6, saying that no statement from the United States could change the One China policy, and the fact that Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan are part of China's territory. Delta Air Lines and the United Airlines from the U.S. have yet to change their designation of Taiwan. On the other hand, British Airways and Germany's Lufthansa have both listed Taiwan as "Taiwan, China".

Taiwan's foreign ministry has called on international society to stand up to the intervention from China. Taiwan's government is also looking to unite other countries with similar values to stand up for democracy and fight for more space on the international stage.
