The traffic was also affected by the sudden, ceaseless rain. At Taoyuan International Airport, a shopping area inside terminal 2 flooded as rain poured through the roof. Taipei's Songshan Airport was also forced to close. A total of 177 local and international flights had been cancelled or postponed at Taipei's two airports. Train services were also disrupted. The foundations of Shifen train station on the Pingxi line were flooded and the Shenao tunnel was even covered by a landslide, so the Pinxi and Shenao Lines were forced to close while emergency personnel were working around the clock to repair the damage.
Around 11am, staff rolled up their trousers and all got to work with dustpans to sweep up the water along the walkway between shops at Taoyuan International Airport Terminal Two shopping mall. The rain was so heavy that the drains just couldn't cope and the whole shopping area was flooded.

It wasn't a flood today, it was leaks, the rain was so heavy that it couldn't be drained away in time.
In addition to the flooding, the extremely torrential rain caused poor visibility, so that flights were disrupted. In the morning, Taoyuan International Airport had a thunderstorm warning and work on waiting flights was halted on the apron. Songshan International Airport was also affected by the extremely torrential rain and was closed at 10:30 am. On the flight board, there was a whole row of red and orange lights as flights were delayed and passengers congregated at check-in counters seeking updates.

Originally we were going to Penghu for 3 days, but now with the flights halted, the whole schedule is going to be off.
Many flights scheduled to land at Taoyuan or Songshan Airports were diverted to Kaohsiung's Xiaogang, or Hong Kong. Some passengers returning from Japan who were scheduled to land at Songshan at 10 am, were diverted to Kaohsiung and didn't return to Taipei until 2:45 pm.

When we got there, there was a lot of turbulence and so the plane was going round for about 20 or 30 minutes and was going to Taoyuan, it flew for about 30 or 40 minutes and couldn't land, so in the end, announced it was going to Kaohsiung.
The thunderstorm continued and Taiwan Railways had flooding on the lines from Ruifang to Qigu and Taoyuan to Yingge. At one point there were no trains in either direction and it wasn't until about 1 pm that services resumed.

The number 411 was delayed the most, for about 100 minutes and then the 271 was late by 70 minutes.
On the Pingxi line, Shifen Station's foundations were flooded. On the Shenao line, there was a landslide in the Shenao tunnel. In the Alishan recreation area on the Zhaoping line and the Shenshu line, as there was rainfall over 200 mm, all the trains were halted.
==民眾==
==民眾==
