At around this time of the year, larger numbers of Monk goby fry will swim back to Taiwan's eastern rivers after they are hatched in the sea. Therefore, recently a lot of people would go to the coast of Taitung's Dawu Township to catch them. Some can catch over a hundred catty per day and sell for up to $20,000 to NT$30,000. For the consecutive three days, over a hundred indigenous people were standing in the water and catching sicyopterus japonicus fry with triangular nets. Some may catch one hundred Taiwan kilograms a day. The indigenous tribes in Ta-wu region have less advantage on economic development. Every family member is working in this season. One Taiwan kilogram sells at NT$500, other kinds of fry may sell for NT$300 per Taiwan kilogram. ==TA-CHU VILLAGER== Catch some for paying home expenses. ==MR. Therefore I worry about my villagers. Catching fry along the east coastal line is not restricted by the Council of Agriculture. There are only five days for catching fry, therefore, the coast line is full of catchers, just like a market fair. TRANSLATED BY: ANTHONY LIN 海邊捕撈魚苗畫面，最近在台東縣大武海邊，也經常看到。因為溪流的出海口，湧入大量日本禿頭鯊魚苗，附近的原住民，幾乎總動員，有人一天可以撈到上百斤，賺到兩三萬元外快。 這是台東縣大竹高溪的出海口，海灘上連續三天都湧入了上百位拿著三角網的原住民，站在海裡捕撈一種在梅雨季節要洄游到淡水的日本禿頭鯊魚苗，而且魚苗的數量非常多，有人一天就可以撈到一百斤。大武地區沿線的原住民部落，經濟發展條件不好，到了這個季節幾乎全家出動，透明的魚苗一斤有5百元的價錢，已經碰到淡水變黑的一斤也有3百元。 ==大竹村民== 捉一點貼補家用啊 ==大竹村民 邱先生== 最多(一個早上)也差不多是20斤 不過在溪流出海口捕撈魚苗，還是有危險性，但是當地居民說，已經習慣了。 ==大竹村民 李先生== （會不會很危險）不會啦 （為什麼）習慣了 ==大竹村長 鄭振雄== 山上如果下大雨的話 可能會比較有問題 所以我也蠻擔心我的村民 東部沿海捕撈魚苗目前不在農委會管制的範圍，而魚苗盛產的時間，大約只有五天左右，所以沿海部落的原住民只要一聽到有魚苗出現，就會到溪流出海口搶撈，海灘也就出現像市集一樣熱鬧的特殊景觀。 記者 章明哲 台東報導
