UNOFFICIALLY, LEE MAY BE HELD IN GUANGDONG PROVINCE|張小月:非正式管道消息 李明哲關押廣東

On Apr. 11, the Mainland Affairs Council held a media conference on the former DPP staffer Lee Ming-che who has been detained in China. MAC Minister Katherine Chang said that it was possible that Lee was being held in Guangdong Province. However, this information did not come from official cross-strait sources, so there was no way to check its veracity. ==KATHERINE CHANG MAC Minister == Firstly, we hope to find out for what reason Lee is being held, on breaking which law and what charge, this needs to be announced. Secondly, we want to know in what place he is being held and what the limits of his freedom are. China has not given us any formal response. Thirdly, we request that China allow family members to visit. Chang called on China with these three requests: where Lee was being held, the reason for his detention, and allowing his family to visit. The media conference was partly in response to the Legislative Yuan decision yesterday to protest the fact that China suddenly canceled Lee's wife's China travel document.
