Meanwhile, large crowds gathered on the streets in Stockholm two days after the attack in a show of solidarity.

Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that.
Two days after a terrorist attack in Stockholm, thousands of Swedes gathered in a public square near the site of the attack to show solidarity in the face of terrorism and vowing to fight violence and hate with love and peace. However, the attack has also drawn attention to Sweden's refugee policy.

(There were) a lot of people here, and the truck was nearly hitting me. And it was a big shock for me too. Refugees who come here to Sweden, we're warm, warmly welcome them, but you know, sometimes there are hidden terrorists, and maybe.
==SWEDISH DEMONSTRATOR==
First of all, the fact that he is a refugee is absolutely of no consequence whatsoever. This is a sick individual. Most Stockholmers realize, just because you are a refugee or a Muslim does not mean you're a terrorist.
Local media reports say that 39-year-old Uzbek man has been arrested by the police for the attack. The suspect has four children in Uzbekistan and worked in Sweden as a construction worker. He applied for permanent residency in 2014, but the application was rejected in 2016. He was given one month to leave the country last December, but then went missing. He has been wanted since late February. The Swedish police said that the suspect has shown sympathy for extremist groups including the Islamic State, while local media reported that he posted IS recruitment videos on his Facebook page and that he has several Facebook friends connected to the international Islamic organization Hizb ut-Tahrir.
==STEFAN LOFVEN Prime Minister of Sweden==
You are entitled to apply for asylum based on international law, but your application may be either accepted or rejected. Unfortunately, in this particular case, the person involved did not leave the country after his application was rejected.
Norwegian police also found a suspected explosive device in Oslo on the evening of the 9th. The device was detonated by police. The bomb team said that the device was about 30 centimeters wide and seemed to be capable of only causing limited damage. The police later arrested a 17-year-old Russian suspect who has been living in Norway since 2010 and has applied for asylum there. However, the suspect's attorney said he denies placing the device. Norway has raised the level of risk for an attack on the country from "possible" to "probable" for two months.
