COACH CRASHES INTO HOUSE, PASSENGERS UNINJURED|陸客遊覽車野柳撞民宅 司機送醫不治

At around 10 am on Mar 6, in New Taipei City's Wanli a coach crashed into a roadside house. On board there was a group of 22 Chinese tourists from Jilin and a Taiwanese guide. No passenger was injured as a result. However, the driver, surnamed Chen, was suspected to have suffered a heart attack. He died before he reached Jinshan hospital's emergency department. The police are investigating. At around 10 am on Mar. 6, this coach, carrying a group of 22 tourists from China's Jilin Province was on its way to the National Palace Museum, after visiting Yeliu. A few minutes after starting off from Yeliu, it crashed into a house by the roadside. It was not going fast and all 22 passengers and a Taiwan guide were safe. Sadly, however, the driver, surnamed Chen, was found to have no vital signs and could not be resuscitated at hospital. ==LEE FENG-HSU Chief, Wanli Branch New Taipei City Fire Dept.== At the scene he was found to have no vital signs, rescue personnel administered CPU and took him to NTU's Jinshan Hsopital, but could not save him. From the coach's video recorder it can be seen that before the crash the vehicle veered slightly towards the middle of the road and then veered towards the roadside. Due to the impact, the first few seconds before the impact were not saved. The vehicle knocked a hole in the house and warped the steel frame. A large piece of cement brick wall, was stuck on the vehicle and roadside vehicles were damaged. The exact cause of the accident will be clarified by the prosecutor. Police investigated whether the driver had been overworked, but after looking at information, have eliminated this possibility.
