The self-help group representing highway toll collectors who have been protesting for two years about being laid off for the e-toll system took to the street once more to protest outside of President Tsai's official Residence. The toll collectors demanded that the Tsai administration fulfill its promises. ==Protesters== Respect the agreement ! Do not go back on it ! Unhappy that the Tsai government differentiated by three to four times the amount, between members and non-members of the toll collectors' self-help group, in giving subsidies, the toll collectors' self-help group once again took to the street. On Jan. 19 the Ministry of Labor's review group made a decision to adjust the self-help group's subsidies to limit eligibility and cap the ceiling. The self-help group feels that this goes against the content of the August 16 agreement. ==CHEN SU-HSIANG researcher, Taiwan Int'l Workers' Assoc.== It's always the toll collectors' self-help group which is protesting, holding over 200 protests in two years. Finally, when the administration changed it seemed they respected our rights, but today we are protesting the fact that they are just taking us along for the ride. Just before the Lunar New Year, the toll collectors sought to have the Tsai administration pay attention to their plight by taking their families out to join the protest.
