Vounteers to help repair damaged houses for senior citizens / 年前送暖 義工幫獨居老人免費修屋　　　　　　　　　　

According to Hua-Shan Social Welfare Foundation's statistics, nearly 2,000 senior citizens live in houses that have not been repaired from the damages caused by the three typhoons last year. Since the Lunar New Year is just around the corner. The Foundation is mobilizing volunteers to help. It also urges the society to provide assistance. The old lady lives in Kaohsiung with her husband and mentally challenged son. She and her husband both suffered from disabilities. The cracks in their house were caused by the three typhoons last year. The monthly subsidies they receive could barely cover their meals, not to mention home maintenance. ==CHIEN MI senior citizen== Others can lead a comfortable life in their later years, but not me. People are getting ready to celebrate the New Year, but I'm too poor to afford that luxury. TRANSLATED BY：LUKE CHIANG 想到2樓拿物品或打掃，高雄這位簡米阿嬤，都得挑白天，去年3個颱風挾帶豪雨，她的房子多處龜裂，也因為管線進水，二樓以上只剩一盞小燈能亮，長輩說，她跟先生一個失能、一個雙腿不便，兒子又有智能障礙，每個月領取的補助金連吃飯都不夠，沒有多餘的錢修房子。 ==獨居長輩 簡米== (別人)做人怎麼這麼好命 我做人我怎麼 這麼歹命 別人在歡喜要過年 高興做 我怎麼都不時都 口袋都空空 從去年颱風後到現在，華山基金會統計，全台目前還有將近兩千名獨居長輩，住家龜裂、漏水等待修繕，因此趕在過年前，基金會找義工幫獨居長輩免費修屋，但受限於經費以及有專業技能的義工有限，需要外界協助。 ==華山基金會大寮站長 蔡崇歷== 甚至我們有協助 (住)在貨櫃屋裡面的長輩 她的貨櫃屋是有點生鏽的 那當然我們最近就它 生鏽跟缺漏的部分 我們有去做補強的部分 但是還是希望各界來積極關心 華山志工趕在過年前，分送年菜給長輩，也家訪掌握狀況，更希望過年前長輩房子全修繕好，讓他們安心過年。 記者 王柔婷 陳顯坤 高雄報導
