In the meantime, no sign of peace in Brazil's prisons. 33 inmates were killed in northern Brazil, some decapitated or with their hearts ripped out, during a massacre led by the country's largest gang, which is the third prison riot in less than a week. Monte Cristo, the largest prison in Brazil's Roraima state, saw a deadly gang conflict on the 6th that overwhelmed the prison security staff. Special forces were dispatched to restore order.
