APEC SUMMIT CLOSES, ASSERTS COMMITTMENT TO OPEN MARKETS|APEC誓抗保護主義 拒放任貨幣競貶

In Lima, Peru, The 24th APEC Economic Leader's meeting has come to a close. Heads of member states issued a joint declaration, reiterating the bloc's commitment to open markets, fight protectionism and curb the competitive devaluation of currencies. The 21 leaders of the APEC member nations concluded their summit. They issued the Lima Declaration which stressed their support for free trade and investment, a fight against protectionism, refraining from competitive devaluation, to achieve strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth. ==PEDRO PABLO KUCZYNSKI Peruvian President== This has been a productive meeting in a key moment in the world's economic history, due to trends against foreign commerce, that we have seen in some recent elections in some important countries. The Brexit victory in the UK and Donald Trump's winning the election were the main reasons to this declaration. Member nations hope to re-vitalize trade recession and sluggish economic growth caused by protectionism and distorting measures before 2020. 2016 APEC was the last international meeting for the US President Barack Obama, he expressed his appreciation to all member leaders and tried to clear their doubts on the US President-elect Donald Trump. ==BARACK OBAMA U.S. President== I can't guarantee that the president-elect won't pursue some of the positions that he's taken but what I can guarantee is that reality will force him to adjust how he approaches many of these issues. The future of the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is yet unclear until Donald Trump took office. Obama urged other leaders to continue the trade deal. During his election campaign, Trump criticized TPP as a continuing rap to the US and handing employment opportunities to nations with cheaper labor costs. Donald Trump's Republican Party is to lead the US Congress with a house majority next year.
