Hardline Muslims protest against Jakarta governor / 批雅加達華裔首長失言 伊斯蘭團體示威　　　　　　　　　　

On Oct 14, Indonesia's capital city Jakarta saw nearly ten thousand Muslims demonstrate on the streets. They demanded to execute Jakarta's ethnic Chinese and Christian Governor Basuki Purnama, because Purnama cited a verse from the Koran. However, Governor Purnama explained that his speech video was edited intentionally by someone and made it a circulation over social media. ==DEMONSTRATORS== In the name of Allah! War! War! Satan! Execute Ahok! Nearly ten thousand Muslim hardliners wearing traditional white costumes demonstrated at the Jarkata City Hall. The Front Pembela Islam (FPI) mobilized the 'protest. They demanded to execute Jakarta's Christian governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama for his comments about the Koran. ==MUHAMMAD AL KHATHTHATH, Muslin Forum Leader== For every Muslim, the leaders elected by us should be Muslim, he or she cannot be non-Muslim. If anyone says that the rules forbid us to elect a non-Muslim, it's a lie. That person has insulted the Koran. Governor Purnama is Jakarta's first ethnic Chinese governor. Last month in his visit to an Indonesian island, Purnama cited a verse from the Koran. That sounded suggesting it was un-Islamic to vote for a leader of a different religion. However, in recent weeks former president Yudhoyono's son, Edhie Baskoro, also the former education minister has participated in the coming election, fueling much pressure to the incumbent Governor Purnama.
