Penghu will hold its 2nd casino referendum on Oct. 15, which is today. Compared to 7 years ago, both sides have attracted many young people's support. The Internet has been an effective platform to communicate messages to the younger generation. Both sides are calling on young people to vote in order to decide the fate of Penghu.
At the office of the Penghu Anti-gambling Alliance, there many young people. 25-year-old Liu Yi-yang is processing campaign footage. He started out as a volunteer but has become a full-time staff member at the organization. He interacts with young people online. Wang Nan-Hsin is a 22-year-old college student at National Penghu University of Science and Technology. He chose to stay in Penghu and support the anti-gambling movement.

The pro-casinos camp is better prepared this time. They offer a strong incentive. This has made our generation, whether online, or people from all walks of life, to think deeper about how to develop Penghu.

There's a saying that if ten people liked, that means a hundred support it. The internet is a platform that allows us to reach the young people.
24-year-old Chen Chun-chieh has been canvassing the streets trying to promote an international experience and create more development possibilities for Penghu.

We need to be brave and change. Many senior citizens live here. They are also coming out to support casinos for the youth, but many people just want the status quo and resist change. I hope they can be brave and accept an industry that has been legalized in 133 countries.
Cheng Hui-Ling also supports the casino referendum. She has suspended her work as a bridal makeup artist and came back to Penghu to advocate for casinos in the hopes of creating more jobs in Penghu.

Young people really cannot find a stage of their own to shine. Many industries here, including the tourism industry, which we depend on, have been in decline.
Both sides have been promoting their opinions. From traditional street campaigns to social media, they encourage youth to come out, cast their vote, and take the future into their own hands.
