After Brexit, the pound has fallen consistently. On Oct. 10, it depreciated to 1 against 1.24 US dollars, the lowest in 31 years. The Bank of England and others believe as imported goods become more expensive and the EU market continues to shrink, the British economic outlook is not great. But Other analysts believe that the pound has long been overvalued, and devaluation will take it back to normal levels.
A Reuters survey showed that due to worries about Brexit, the financial services sector will relocate out of the UK, so that the UK will lose its status as a financial center and sterling will continue to fall. The cost of imports will rise impacting consumer habits and affecting business confidence.

It will take time for the consumer to be hit, and it will come in two ways, it will come as higher prices and through higher import prices as a result of weaker sterling.
UK reports sterling devaluation is good for the long-term development of the real economy. The Independent newspaper said London's stock market has gradually returned to or even surpassed the pre-referendum level.

Many of course including the Bank of England expected that the UK would suffer a very significant slowdown, that's not happened...
The Independent newspaper said that the UK has relied on its status as a financial center to attract finance which in turn had fueled real estate prices and over-valued sterling as a side effect. Before Brexit, sterling was over valued by 20 to 25 percent. The Financial Times chief financial commentator, warned the Bank of England over the years about the financial sector bubble, which only profited the financial industry itself, and did not help real output or the manufacturing sector. The Independent newspaper believes that the pound returning to US$1.1 will allow the economy to leave the bubble and the May cabinet to implement education and personnel training to strengthen investment in the economy for long term sustainable development.
