Bagua sky bridge entrance fee in October / 八卦山天空步道遊客爆滿 下月起擬收費　　　　　　　　　　

The longest sky bridge in Taiwan opened in July and it has been crowded at every holiday since. Now Changhua County Government will soon start charging an entrance fee in October. Visitors who walk along the bridge can see as far as Bagua Mountain. Each weekend and holiday the sky bridge there is full of people, as it is a free attraction. However, this will change soon and many people think it is a pity. ==MEMBER OF PUBLIC== Entrance fee? No, I don't agree, because Bagua Mountain is everyone's green space. If you charge for it, it is making money from visitors and locals can't enjoy the green space. ==LOCAL RESIDENT== Entrance fee? Then I can just walk underneath it. It would be more comfortable anyway. There is shade from the trees. It's more comfortable. Vendors say that the Bagua Mountain area was always a bit quiet in terms of visitors and now that there are so many they are making a good profit . They worry that if visitors have to pay, the stream of visitors will fall off. However, many local residents feel that the heavy traffic every weekend and holiday and the poor traffic planning is a major problem and they hope that charging for the bridge will control the crowds and the quality of visitors. The county government said it will collect opinions and then assess payment. ==TIEN FEI-PENG, Changhua County, Dept. of City and Tourism== There are various opinions, there are various voices, we will collect them all and give them to the County Magistrate. It said that three months trial operation was to gain an overall understanding of the situation and in the future, the entrance fee would be around NT$50 which may be collected by the county government or outsourced to a management company and the fee would cover operating costs.
