Teacher sacked for opposing policy reinstates / 批郝推一綱一本被解聘 國中師蕭曉玲復職　　　　　　　　　　

Zhongshan Junior High School music teacher Hsiao Hsiao-ling was arbitrarily dismissed by her school 9 years ago on the grounds of misconduct and incompetence after she openly opposed the "one guideline, one curriculum" policy of then Taipei City Mayor Hau Lung-bin. In July this year, the city Government's Clean Government Committee completed its investigation and recommended that the dismissal be revoked. The Department of Education also reviewed the dismissal process and found it to be flawed, too. With Mayor Ko's approval, Hsiao's reinstatement has been confirmed. Nine years after her dismissal, Zhongshan Junior High School music teacher Hsiao Hsiao-ling finally got her justice. I've been through all that, so after nine years I just felt numb. I'm very thankful for Mayor Ko for his effort and his willingness to shoulder the responsibility. In 2014, an investigation conducted by the Control Yuan determined that Hsiao's case was not handled properly. The Taipei City government was corrected, but no further action was taken until Ko took office. The Taipei City Department of Education also reviewed the case and confirmed that Hsiao was dismissed just two days after she received a serious demerit without a probation.
