Taiwan wins 6 gold medals in Tug-of-War Championships / 世界盃奪6金 景美台師大拔河聯隊凱歸

Jingmei Girls High School and National Taiwan Normal University students won six gold medals in the 2016 World Outdoor Tug-of-War Championships. On Sept 19, they returned to Taiwan and received a warm welcome at the airport. The team received a warm welcome when they arrived in Taoyuan International Airport. Jingmei Girls High School and National Taiwan Normal University tug of war team arrived back from Sweden and the 2016 World Outdoor Tug-of-War Championships where they won six gold medals which they brought back to their school. ==HUANG YI-JIN Jingmei Girls High School/ NTNU tug of war team== In this competition, the ground was quite soft, when we started the competition and we saw the venue, we were quite nervous and the coach kept telling us to adjust our expectations, in the end, we got more familiar with the feel of the ground. Overcoming the climate, ground and other challenges the team won the women's 500 kilogram quadruple, the 540 kilogram, and the U23, setting a new record. Looking at their hands you can see that it took a toll on them. They spent a lot of time practicing before they went. ==TIEN CHI-JUNG Jingmei Girls High School/ NTNU tug of war team== We just practice the whole time, from morning to afternoon and if we feel we didn't do well, we go on in the evening too. This group of women made their coach proud on the world stage, however, as each country's tug of war team technique gradually increases they cannot relax. Their next step is to fully prepare for the Universiade qualifying competition hoping for a place in the international tournament, and more gold medals.
