LIUQIU NEEDS DAYS TO RECOVER FROM TYPHOON DAMAGE|東琉線昨復航 小琉球街道滿是垃圾黃泥

Pingtung County's Liuqiu Island suffered serious damage from Typhoon Meranti's powerful winds. The army sent personnel to help with the recovery effort. Cargo containers were washed onto roads and and coral reefs were scattered on land. Metal shutter rolling doors were dented and some had completely left their frames. Two days after Typhoon Meranti left, residents were unable to make a complete recovery. There were broken trees, utility poles and many corrugated iron houses were damaged by the violence of Typhoon Meranti.
