On the 25th, a 160-member delegation led by Czech Chamber of Deputies Speaker Marketa Pekarova Adamova arrived in Taiwan for a business conference. Adamova said although Taiwan and Czechia don't have official diplomatic ties, they are both members of the democratic alliance. Adamova also asked Taiwan to help Czechia develop its chip and semiconductor industries. In response, Economic Affairs Minister Wang Mei-hua said Taiwan would strengthen economic cooperation with Czechia in any number of areas.
The 18th Session of the Taiwan-Czech Joint Business Council Meeting opened on the 27th with over 160 Czech government and AI industry representatives, including Czech Chamber of Deputies Speaker Marketa Pekarova Adamova, in attendance.
Wang Mei-hua, Economic Affairs Minister: “We'll be seeing additional investments in the electric car and semiconductor industries in the near future. We are also designing relevant courses and scholarships, and research and development cooperation. These are all areas and the many areas where we can work with Czechia.”
Apart from signing a memorandum of cooperation, the two sides also discussed possible cooperation in the domestic electric car industry. Taiwan also invited the delegates to join its electric car platform and create new opportunities. The Czech delegates, meanwhile, called on Taiwan to help their country develop a semiconductor and chip industry.
Jaroslav Hanak, President, Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic: “We bring innovative, stable and future-looking companies with an interesting portfolio and offerings that can be of interest and value to our Taiwanese partners.”
Although the two sides don't have official diplomatic relations, there are opportunities for bilateral and mutually beneficial cooperation.
第18屆台捷經濟合作會議上午登場，捷克眾議長艾達莫娃率領160多位包含捷克高階官員、人工智慧AI等產業界代表來台，期盼能促進台捷合作。
經濟部長王美花指出：「最近我們的廠商也會增加電動車方面相關的投資；半導體方面，我們也在設計相關的課程獎學金還有研發的合作等等。這個都是我們可以跟捷克在很多方面來合作的。」
台捷雙方除了簽署合作備忘錄，也要針對國內電動車發展趨勢進行交流分享；同時邀請捷克代表一起加入電動車平台，共創電動車的新商機。另外捷克看好台灣是晶片大國，期盼台灣能協助捷克在半導體產業和晶片發展。
捷克全國工業總會會長Mr. Jaroslav Hanák表示：「帶我們為創新穩定和具有前瞻性的公司，來有趣的投資組合和產品。這些產品和服務，可能對我們的台灣合作夥伴感興趣，並具有價值。」
雖然台捷沒有邦交，不過仍希望透過台捷經濟合作，拉近彼此緊密的合作熱度，共創雙贏。
