Appointments for the 11th round of COVID-19 vaccines opened on Oct. 11. Those with eligibility include people over 45, people between the ages of 12 and 22, and Category 9 people over 18 that registered their willingness to get a BNT vaccine before noon on Oct. 6. The appointment platform will be available from 10 a.m. on the 11th to noon on the 13th. An estimated 1.17 million people are eligible. Meanwhile, indigenous residents over 55 and other residents over 68 in Taipei waiting for their second Moderna dose can schedule appointments between 9 a.m. on the 11th and noon on the 12th. Vaccines will be administered starting on the 13th. Civic representatives were deluged with phone calls from the public asking for help registering for a COVID-19 vaccine on the 11th. Many people that can't figure out how to make appointments on the government's online platform went to their borough chief's office for help. Taipei's vaccination website also crashed several times in the morning, and spots in many areas were already fully booked.

A one-year-old girl tested positive for COVID-19 on the 10th, which the government is classifying as an "old" case based on her family members' antibody levels. Some doctors say screening and tracing for old cases is a necessity as the alert level comes down, but others disagree.
Zen Lin, Chair, Primary Care Association："Taiwan has very few COVID-19 cases, so we probably don't need large-scale screening. It would require a huge amount of labor and it's not worth it financially."
Zen Lin says it's better to be safe than sorry in the short term and the immunocompromised and elderly should get priority for second doses.
第11期BNT疫苗第一劑開放預約，包括45歲以上民眾、22-12歲民眾、以及18歲以上第9類對象，在10月6日中午12時前登記選擇BNT疫苗的民眾，10/11日上午10時至10月13日中午12時止都可以上COVID-19公費疫苗預約平台預約，初步統計有117萬人符合預約資格。另外台北市11日9點到12日中午開放55歲以上原住民、以及68歲以上民眾以台北市COVID-19 疫苗接種系統預約接種莫德納第二劑，13日起開始接種。一早有民眾透過電話請民代幫忙上網登記，也有民眾跑到里長辦公室希望協助預約，台北市系統上午一度卡住，但後來恢復順暢，但不少地方都已經額滿，只剩下花博可以預約。
文山區華興里長 陳峙穎 vs. 里民表示：「(花博爭艷館，有中山區的花博爭艷館。) 那你可不可以幫我？因為我動作慢。」
另外10日出現一名一歲女童的本土案例，因為他與家人有抗體算是舊案，但也讓各界關注舊案疫調的必要性，有醫師認為監測性篩檢舊案的疫調，在解封階段有一定必要性，但也有醫師認為沒有必要。
基層醫療協會理事長 林應然表示：「台灣還很好，就是說，目前你看每天發生這個案例不多嘛，所以我們大概不需要去做大規模的篩檢，這個勞師動眾，花很多錢沒有那個價值。」
林應然表示，疫情將會逐步改善，但短期內還是要小心防疫，並儘量讓長者以及防疫力較弱的民眾盡快施打兩劑疫苗，避免感染或發生重症。
