A total of 10 million doses of BNT vaccines procured by Hon Hai's Yonglin Foundation and TSMC are expected to arrive at Taiwan in September at the earliest. In a Facebook post, Hon Hai founder Terry Gou said Beijing did not try to interfere with the purchase. It is estimated that the vaccines cost US$33 per shot, including shipping and cold storage.
Both Hon Hai and TSMC made announcements about their vaccine purchases on July 12. The purchases of five million BNT vaccines each will cost the companies up to US$175 million, including shipping and cold storage. Fosun Pharma Chair Wu Yi-fang also released a statement, saying "we are very pleased to see that this vaccine jointly developed by Fosun Pharmaceutical and BioNTech can play a positive role in the prevention and control of the epidemic in Taiwan."The CEO of BNT, Ugur Sahin, also said the company was "very grateful to be able to also supply the Taiwanese people with vaccine doses manufactured in Europe."

It also noted the fulfillment of the transaction was dependent on local vaccine usage approval and the fulfillment of the purchasers' donation conditions. According to reports, TSMC and Hon Hai are paying US$30 per vaccine, with additional cost of US$3 for transport and cold storage. TTY Pharma negotiated a similar price earlier, but Taiwan Biotech was unable to get the price below US$45 per shot in its negotiations. Lawmakers had plenty to say about this.

While Chen Shih-chung had kept talking about "outside interference," Terry Gou was more than clear: Beijing did not try to interfere or intervene with his purchase."
Luo Chih-cheng, Legislator (DPP)："You can't compare them. These are two different times, two different environments, and they're purchasing different amounts. TSMC and Hon Hai have not said how much they're paying, so you can't make any comparisons."
At the earliest, the BNT vaccines will not arrive in Taiwan until September or October.
12號上午7點不到，台積電與鴻海接連發出即時重大訊息，主旨都是捐贈500萬劑BNT疫苗給衛福部，包含買疫苗、必要的冷鏈物流等捐贈金額，不超過美金1億7仟500萬元，根據路透社報導，上海復星總裁吳以芳也發出聲明，表示很榮幸在台灣防疫工作上扮演正面角色。德國BioTech藥廠執行長沙辛則強調，很開心提供在歐洲生產製造的疫苗給台灣人民。這項消息，無疑為目前台灣的疫苗供應，打了一劑強心針。
民眾黨立委高虹安表示：「事實證明就是沒有政治的干擾，真正默默作事的人，其實是可以有志者事竟成。而就是對外界質疑跟嘲諷，最好的一個回應。」
鴻海集團創辦人郭台銘在臉書強調這段時間，沒有北京當局干涉，感謝回歸商業談判本質。不過這項多方合約，上海復星醫藥最先發出公告證實，還有風險提示，本次交易的執行，受制於疫苗在當地的使用獲批、捐贈完成等條件的滿足。至於疫苗成本，根據了解，從德國買進的價格每劑約30美元，加上運輸、冷鏈等成本，每劑約33美元，和最早東洋要引進的價格差不多，但和當初信東報價45美元有差距，引發藍綠立委攻防。
國民黨立委 費鴻泰表示：「後來之所以破功，就是因為香港雅各臣找到了信東，找到了吳委員。吳委員到現在還不知道是誰，當時陳時中一直說有外力介入，郭台銘董事長講的很清楚，這次北京沒有做任何的指導或者是干涉。」
民進黨立委 羅致政表示：「當時的時空環境，買的量都不同的時候，是很難做比較的。至於台積電或者鴻海，到底買了多少錢，因為他們自己也沒有公開
所以我們沒有辦法去做任何的一些比較。」
疫苗合約簽了，接下來就是等疫苗到貨，由於是逐批生產，還有多項檢驗，預計最快可能9月或10月可以到台灣。
