Taiwan's top ballroom dancer Serena Liu passed away on the night of March 22. She had previously undergone surgery for severe aortic stenosis on Feb. 7, but her heart function did not recover, and she passed away due to excessive intracranial pressure which she later developed.
Taipei Veterans General Hospital said Liu developed cerebral venous thrombosis and intracranial hemorrhage at the end of February and beginning of March, increasing the intracranial pressure and forcing doctors to perform a decompressive craniectomy. Her condition improved following surgery, but the intracranial pressure remained an issue and she passed away. Her family issued a statement via the hospital, saying it is grateful to everyone for their concern and encouragement and expressed its gratitude to Liu's medical team.
