A new online survey has found the least interesting tourist attractions in Taiwan. They are Monster Village and Momotaro Village in Nantou County. Many visitors say these Japanese style villages lack a Taiwanese touch.
The performers dressed in monster costumes dance in front of children, the entire village is decorated with Japanese style ornaments. The Monster Village attracts a massive crowd during the weekends.
There are many entertainers who perform here, it's quite fun.
Despite the massive crowd, the Monster Village was recently voted the least interesting tourism attraction according to voting on the website yamNews. The Momotaro Village, also in Nantou County, took the number two spot on the list. Both attractions are decorated to look like Japanese villages, but many found the atmosphere to be less than convincing.
If you come to this village, paying more attention and looking around, you will find out that we actually integrate many cultural and creative ideas into it. Our team has spent a lot of time and effort to plan out the environment including free tickets, free admission for everyone.
The management office said that they will incorporate local features into the tourist attractions. Associate Professor Huang Cheng-Tsung from the department of tourism of Providence University said that the villages must create their own features on top of mimicking the appearance of Japanese villages in order to attract more visitors.
