For many decades and even now, movies have been the prime entertainment for both men and women, young or old. To show the development of cinema in Taiwan, Shuxin Hall in Taipei's Ximending district is hosting an exhibition of old movie memorabilia. One of the most unique exhibit, is a hand-painted movie poster. Are you ready for some nostalgia? Let's take a look. The poster for "A Touch of Zen" has nostalgic charm. ==TSAN SU-CHENG, Taipei City Archives Director== In the shading, in comparison and the whole spirit of the role it really conveys the historical character of the female lead in A Touch of Zen From the 1950s-70s people were used to seeing hand-painted movie posters. As times change, with technological progress, these hand-painted posters have disappeared without a trace, gradually being replaced by mass produced posters. Although these are realistic, they lack the skill and charm of the hand painted versions. In the 1930's Taipei 's Ximending saw movie theaters flourish, bringing crowds to the area and making stars of film actors. In the 1960s, the actress Ling Bo who played Liang Xiong was hugely famous and toured the streets waving to fans from an open car. ==VISITOR== It's really amazing to see that, the whole street is filled with fans, its amazing. The next period would be the romantic movie era of Erqin Erlin , which is remembered fondly by many. The exhibition features early cinema tickets, antique projectors, postcards, and an introduction to a movie plot. In this age of digital movies these are all doubly valuable.
