Weng Returns From Australian Baseball League 經澳職磨練後返台 翁瑋均:心理素質提升

The Asian Winter League was suspended for three years due to the epidemic. After the 2022 CPBL season, several young CPBL players went to the Australian Baseball League to extend their season. Among them, Rakuten Monkey's 24-year-old pitcher Weng Wei-chun returned to Taiwan yesterday. 

Rakuten Monkey's pitcher Weng Wei-chun returned to Taiwan on the 18th. He is very tanned after playing in the Australian Baseball League after the 2022 CPBL season. The sun shines every day right now in the southern hemisphere. He played nine games for the Auckland Tuatara logging six starts, four wins, and one loss, with an ERA of 3.48. Weng believes he still has room for improvement, but his psychological state has improved a lot.

Weng Wei-chun, Pitcher, Rakuten Monkeys: “Everyone says athletes need very strong psychological qualities. Mental toughness is to be honed by playing. And combine this with our usual private life off the field so we're not afraid of failure.”

Weng learned about his own shortcomings from the games and from players from different countries and levels. Yu and Huang from CTBC Brothers, Lin Tzu-wei, and Lin Huei-sheng also played for Auckland Tuatara. Not only do the teammates support each other, but Weng also learned a lot from Lin.

Weng Wei-chun, Pitcher, Rakuten Monkeys: “He would tell me what I might be lacking today. And then we can talk to each other and share ideas on what we should do now instead of blindly doing things.”

Weng underwent two elbow bone spur removal operations in the past. He only returned to the first team in August 2022. He will return to Rakuten Monkeys after the Lunar New Year break. 

中職2022賽季後，到南半球的澳洲打職棒，天天大太陽，樂天桃猿投手翁瑋均曬黑了。在奧克蘭喙頭蜥隊出賽9場，其中6場先發，4勝1敗，防禦率3.48。自評還有待加強，但心理素質提升不少。

樂天桃猿投手翁瑋均認為：「大家都說，運動員需要很強大的心理素質。心理素質就是要從場上去磨練，然後跟平常私底下的生活去嘗試。去問，就是不要怕失敗。」

從比賽了解自己的不足，並和多國不同程度的選手交流。而中信兄弟的余謙和黃弘毅、旅外的林子偉和林暉盛，也在奧克蘭喙頭蜥，不只相互扶持，尤其從林子偉身上學到不少。

樂天桃猿投手翁瑋均表示：「去告訴你，可能今天你不足的地方在哪，然後我們也可以彼此的去交流。就是去討論、去溝通，我們現在應該要做什麼，而不是盲目的就是自己在那邊亂做。」

24歲的翁瑋均，動了2次手肘骨刺清除手術，去年8月才重返一軍，春節後將回到樂天桃猿。他說，將以此行所學，用行動證明給球團看。
