Cabinet Reshuffle Will Take Place After Legislative Session 府院.內閣定調 立院會期後全面檢討人事

President Tsai Ing-wen called senior government officials to a meeting yesterday and ordered an evaluation of all senior government posts when the current legislative session ends. On the following day, the Executive Yuan announced that Interior Minister Hsu Kuo-yung had resigned for health reasons.

Interior Minister Hsu Kuo-yung, who was scheduled to attend a legislative interpellation on the 5th, has resigned. His deputy, Hua Ching-chun, attended the interpellation in his place. 

Hua Ching-chun, Deputy Interior Minister: “It's not our place as underlings to speak about our superiors going or staying. Everyone knows the minister has been dealing with long-term respiratory and spinal issues. He honestly didn't look that great when I saw him last Friday.”

According to an Executive Yuan statement, Hsu resigned due to health reasons and Premier Su Tseng-chang tried to change his mind, but to no avail. President Tsai Ing-wen convened a meeting of senior government officials on the 4th and ordered an evaluation of all senior government posts after the current legislative session ends.

Wang Kwo-tsai, Transportation and Communications Minister: “It's all up to fate. Every appointed official does what they're supposed to do.”

Pan Wen-chung, Education Minister: “Personally speaking, I have done everything to the best of my abilities every single day I've been at this job. I will also work with my colleagues on planning and promotion (after the reshuffle).”

Chen Chi-chung, Agriculture Minister: “I will proceed in accordance with the Cabinet reshuffle. Appointed officials don't have set terms anyway, and they have to bear the responsibility for the implementation of policies. (If I go back to teaching), I'll follow the secondment schedule.”

Many want to know what will be the fate of Health and Welfare Minister Hsueh Jui-yuan.

Reporters asked Hsueh Jui-yuan, Health and Welfare Minister: “Do you want to keep your job? Minister, do you want to remain at your job?”

How great of a Cabinet reshuffle will there be? Only time will tell.

原定5日要出席立法院備詢的內政部長徐國勇，突然傳出請假缺席，改由政務次長花敬群代表備詢，傳出徐國勇向行政院長蘇貞昌提出辭呈。

內政部政務次長花敬群說道：「這涉及到長官去留的問題，並不是我們下屬方便回答的問題，大家知道部長，長期都有氣喘和脊椎的一些問題，上禮拜五我看到他確實整個氣色，整個狀況不是太好。」

行政院發聲明證實，徐國勇因為個人健康因素提出辭呈，但蘇貞昌仍要慰留，希望徐國勇能繼續跟行政團隊一起努力。其實4日總統蔡英文就邀集府院黨高層開會，定調在立法院會期結束後，全面檢討府院及內閣人事布局。

交通部長王國材指出：「政務官來去隨緣，我想說，每一個政務官都會把握當下，做好該做的事情。」

教育部長潘文忠表示：「以我個人而言，我想在這個工作的每一天，都應該是盡心盡力，也跟同仁們來做後續相關事務的一些規劃跟推動。」

農委會主委陳吉仲提及：「配合整個內閣改組的作業來辦理，政務官本來就是沒有任期，而且本來就是要對施政的所有成果來負責，（回學校會）依照借調期程會來辦理。」

而被外界點名是陳時中的敗選戰犯之一的衛福部長薛瑞元，在內閣改組是否異動，也引起關切。

記者問薛瑞元：「自己還會想要留任嗎，部長你會想要留任嗎？」　

立法院會期後執政黨將檢討內閣人事，各部會首長去留及動向也已經引起外界關注。
