2022 National Day Theme: Defending the Nation Together 國慶以守土衛國為主題 強調自我防衛決心

With the Double 10 National Day approaching, plans for this year's celebrations have been announced.

With the fast approaching of National Day and 2022's theme being "Defending the Nation Together," the National Day Preparation Committee Chair and President of Legislative Yuan You Si-kun said that this year's theme is related to the Russia-Ukraine war. Facing China's unrestrained oppression, Taiwan must emphasize its determination for self-defense.

You Si-kun, President of Legislative Yuan: “We appear favorably compared with the Ukrainians; the Taiwanese must retrieve our predecessors' spirit and follow their convictions in defending our nation.”

Because of the slowdown of the epidemic, this year's national day celebration will be more open and will invite over thousands of guests to watch the ceremony live. In collaboration with the ceremony theme, the national anthem will be sung by seven national army soldiers, Coast Guard Administration representatives, and Matsu Islands Children's Choir. For the first time, the national anthem is to be sung through live streaming connecting three sites, the northernmost frontier landmark and the ROCN Ta Chiang laying alongside Zuoying naval base. A huge national flag will be hung by a transport helicopter. It will be led and followed by two Black Hawk helicopters, respectively, passing over the plaza in front of the Presidential Palace. As for the main event of the national day, fireworks displays will be launched in Chiayi County after 18 years.

Weng Chang-liang, Chiayi County Magistrate: “We will see behind the southern branch of the National Palace Museum and the Zhishan Bridge the beautiful fireworks cast by the National Day Preparation Committee.”

The National Day fireworks will last about 45 minutes, casting 26,000 high-altitude fireworks, during which fountain and light sculpture show, coupled with drones and the symphony will collaborate; meanwhile, there will be 400 specialty booths planned in the activity zone so people can enjoy gourmet food while watching the performance.

雙十國慶即將到來，111年以「守土衛國、你我同行」為主題，國慶籌備委員會主委，立法院長游錫堃表示，這次主題與俄烏戰爭有關，面對中共無極限的霸凌，要強調台灣自我防衛的決心。

游錫堃指出：「我們表現比烏克蘭人毫不遜色，台灣人一定要把先賢的台灣精神找回來，一定要效法先烈守土衛國的精神。」

由於疫情趨緩，今年國慶將會比前兩年開放，將邀請1000位民眾現場觀禮，配合大會主題，國歌將由7位國軍及海巡代表，以及馬祖四鄉五島兒童合唱團共同領唱國歌，並首度以3地連線方式，在東引國之北疆地標及靠泊在左營軍港的塔江艦現場共同演唱。國軍運輸直升機，也將吊掛巨幅國旗，由2架黑鷹直升機引導及跟隨下，通過總統府前廣場上空。至於重頭席國慶焰火，則睽違18年再次移師嘉義縣。

嘉義縣長翁章梁表示：「我們會看到在故宮南院跟至善橋的後面，慶籌會漂亮的焰火在後面施放。」

國慶焰火表演時長約45分鐘，施放2.6萬顆高空焰火，過程結合水舞光雕、無人機及交響樂團跨媒介演出，活動區域也規劃了400攤特色攤位，讓民眾可同時享用美食。
