Preliminary Consensus of Keelung MRT Route Reached 王國材赴巿府會柯文哲 基捷路線達共識

Minister of Transportation and Communications Wang Kwo-tsai met with Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je to discuss the Keelung MRT route. They met for nearly an hour and reached a preliminary consensus.


Minister of Transportation and Communications Wang Kwo-tsai visited the Taipei City Government on the 26th to discuss the Keelung MRT route. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je came out to personally welcome him. They then greeted with elbow bumps and handshakes, despite the fact that the two had been at odds over the planning of the Keelung MRT line.

Ko Wen-je, Taipei City Mayor: “His classmates are all working at city hall. (Commissioner of Transportation Department) Chen Shyue-tair and (Commissioner of Rapid Transit Systems Department) Chang Tse-hsiung. ”
Is the mayor in a better mood today?

The two seemed to be in a good mood. After meeting for nearly an hour, the two sides reached a consensus on the route. MOTC supported Mayor Ko's proposal to extend the Xitung line to Taipei MRT's East Section of Circular Line.

Wang Kwo-tsai, MOTC Minister: “Mayor Ko hopes our Xitung line will extend to the Circular Line's East Section to have the most impact. The MOTC supports this. So we hope that after confirming this direction for the entire Keelung MRT today, our Railway Bureau and their MRT Department will hold some more discussions on the details.”

Ko Wen-je, Taipei City Mayor: “So will it be finalized next month? I tell you professional discussions will take a long time. The general direction is finalized. Our staff still needs to do a lot of research on the details. (So the electromechanical system is now finalized?) I'm sure it will be the same.”

It was originally planned that the closest transfer station on the Xitung line to the Taipei MRT was Donghu Station on the Wenhu line. However, the distance between the two stations is about 280 meters, which makes it difficult for people to transfer. The city government proposed to extend the Xitung line to the future Circular Line. At present, the East Section has not yet been approved. The preliminary plan is to construct the entire line underground. The starting point is from Jingye 3rd Road in Zhongshan District, and along Lequn 2nd Road to Ruiguang Road in Neihu District, passing through Songshan and Xinyi District and ending at Wenshan District's Taipei City Zoo Station. The Circular Line's East Section will connect with Wenhu, Songshan, Banqiao, and Xinyi lines. 

 

 

 

 

為了基隆捷運路線多次隔空交火,交通部長王國材今日來到台北市政府溝通,台北市長柯文哲親自出來迎接,兩人先用手肘互碰打招呼,再握手簡單寒暄。

台北市長柯文哲說: 「他的同學都在市府,哈哈,(交通局長)陳學台跟(捷運局長)張澤雄。」

兩人看起來心情還不錯,會面將近一小時,雙方對於基捷路線達成共識,交通部支持柯文哲提出的汐東線要延伸到台北捷運東環段。

王國材表示:「柯市長這邊也希望說,我們這個汐東段要延伸到東環,才有它的效果,這部分交通部也支持,所以我想說整個基隆捷運,我們希望在今天確定這個方向以後,雙方的專業的,我們的鐵道局跟他們的捷運局,就細部部分再做一些討論。」

台北市長柯文哲表示:「我跟你說,專業(討論)還要很久的時間,大方向確定,那個細部幕僚還要做很多研究。」

原本規劃汐東線最接近台北捷運的轉乘站是文湖線的東湖站,但兩站距離大約280公尺,不利民眾轉乘,市府提出汐東線延伸到未來北捷環狀線。目前捷運東環段尚未核定,初步規劃全線採取地下化,起點由中山區的敬業三路,沿樂群二路轉進內湖區的瑞光路,經過松山區和信義區,終點站在文山區的捷運動物園站,東環線與捷運文湖線、松山線、板南線及信義線銜接。
