EU, Academia Sinica Join Forces in COVID-19 Fight|歐盟宣布與我合作 開發肺炎快篩與疫苗

Following the United States and Taiwan's joint statement to cooperate together to combat COVID-19 on March 18, the European Union and the Academia Sinica also announced join forces to develop vaccines and rapid tests. Filip Grzegorzewski, head of the European Economic and Trade Office in Taiwan, also tweeted "we will defeat coronavirus."

A photo posted by Grzegorzewski on Twitter showed him and Academia Sinica President James Liao participating in a conference call, where the European Union and the Academia Sinica discussed cooperation in developing vaccines and rapid tests for COVID-19. The Academia Sinica confirmed via Facebook that participants in the video conference call included representatives from the EU's Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety; Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations; and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. They discussed disease prevention strategies and mechanisms, and the EU lauded Taiwan's disease prevention results.
