President Tsai Ing-wen visits the athletes who are training in Kaohsiung for the up upcoming 2019 Universiade. Tsai encourages the athletes to break their limits and wish them well in the upcoming event. She also states that they'll meet again ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, hinting that she's confident to win a second term in office.
President Tsai Ing-wen has visited the athletes at Kaohsiung city's National Sports Training Center. She gave a flag to the athletes preparing for the upcoming 2019 Universiade, to be held in Naples, Italy. She also gave a bonus of NT$200,000 to improve the athletes' diet.
I'm promising everyone that I will return when you train in the new building next year, and will give another flag for the athletes training for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The games are far away, so we'll be departing early. And we'll make some fine adjustments according to our discussions following the games in April and May. We have made our best preparation for the personal and team relay races.
The 2019 Universiade in Naples is set to launch on July 3. A total of 131 athletes from Taiwan will be taking part in 13 competitions, including track and field and table tennis. The athletes will take off beginning on June 28. Tsai has encouraged the athletes, and promised that she will come back to give another flag ahead of next year's Tokyo Olympics, hinting that she's confident in winning a second term in office. Asked about how to unite her party, the DPP, after teaming up with former Premier William Lai, Tsai said that she will set a time to meet with Lai, and that she will also meet with DPP councilors in Kaohsiung City.
The question is how we can do better to meet the public's expectation. At the same time, we also need to integrate our effort in preparing for the presidential election.
You Ying-long, chairperson of the Taiwanese Public Opinion Foundation, recently canceled his membership in the DPP. Tsai said she respects You's decision. She also stresses that the DPP must unite ahead of next year's presidential election. She said that speaking with local officials will help her understand the public's voice and to better prepare for the task ahead.

總統 蔡英文表示：「我要先跟大家約定，明年各位入住新大樓的時候，我會再回來我們國訓中心，為2020的東京奧運代表團授旗。」
田徑好手 楊俊瀚表示：「比賽比較遠，所以我們有提前出發，然後按照我們在4月、5月的比賽，然後經過討論之後 ，我們也會做一些細微的調整，不管是個人還是接力，那其實我們都做好，最好的準備。」
拿坡里世大運7月3號開幕，我國派出131位選手，參加田徑、桌球等13種賽事，代表隊將在這月28號陸續出發，蔡英文鼓勵選手為國爭光，也跟他們相約明年東京奧運再回來授旗，似乎對連任很有信心。不過初選底定後，民進黨怎麼展現團結，蔡英文說會再約前行政院長賴清德碰面，中午也會跟民進黨高雄市議員們餐敘。
總統 蔡英文表示：「在人民的期待上面，有什麼我們可以做得更多更好的地方，那同時我們也開始，做我們整個選戰的整合的工作。」
至於台灣民意基金會董事長游盈隆退黨一事，蔡英文說尊重他的決定，不過強調，明年大選，民進黨一定要是團結，與基層餐敘，除了掌握地方心聲，也能有力選戰整合工作。
