Gou, Wu Attend Ma Ying-jeou Foundation Forum|馬英九基金會論壇 郭台銘強調三贏

As for the other candidate who has announced his intention to run - Foxconn Technology Group Chairperson Terry Gou, he gave a speech in a forum hosted by The Ma Ying-jeou Foundation, where he expressed his hope of creating a win-win-win economic situation for the United States, China, and Taiwan.

Foxconn Technology Group Chairperson Terry Gou was accompanied by a robot as he explained how he will use artificial intelligence to help farmers earn more money. Gou attended a forum organized by the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation on Apr. 30 after stepping up public appearances since announcing his participation in the Kuomintang's presidential primary. He gave a speech on one of his areas of expertise, the economy. When asked if he will resign from his company in June to focus all his attention on his candidacy, Gou did not give a direct response.

I've said for many years that I believe politics should serve the economy. Taiwan can win, the United States can win, China can win, and the entire global economy can transform and win.

Gou said a win-win-win situation can be created if Taiwan obtains profits, the United States reaches standards, and China transforms, and added he declared his candidacy so that the next generations of young people will want to stand up. In his speech, former President Ma Ying-jeou also criticized the Tsai Ing-wen administration for its dismal economic performance.

President Tsai Ing-wen told us that Taiwan's economy is the best it has been in 20 years. However, this is not the reality, no matter whether you look at it using impartial data or subjective impressions. This shows that President Tsai thinks it's great, but the people's reaction is that it's not.

KMT Chairperson Wu Den-yih was also in attendance, and was spotted chatting with Gou and Ma. According to recent reports, the NT$ 40 million he raised to support the mayoral candidacy of Kaohsiung City Mayor Han Kuo-yu was originally supposed to be used to support his own presidential candidacy. Wu denied the reports.

Of course it was to be used for the mayoral campaign. How could it be for something more than a year later, that's not possible, right?

It seems like I have to take a melatonin pill every morning to get rid of all the black smears directed at me. In the end, I hope that all those who support Han Kuo-yu will be able to understand my current situation.

Wu added the Kuomintang doesn't have any money left due to the actions of the Ill-Gotten Party Assets Settlement Committee, so it doesn't have much to offer mayoral and magisterial candidates. When asked if his meeting with Han will serve to break the ice, Wu responded that the two communicate well and do not have any rancor.
