STUDENT LOSES LEGAL CASE ON ENGLISH GRADUATION THRESHOLD|政大生反對外語畢業門檻 告學校敗訴

A high administrative court yesterday ruled in favor of National Chengchi University after a student filed an administrative lawsuit against the school for withholding her diploma. The law student was kept from graduating because she was protesting against the school's policy of setting English proficiency requirements for graduates, and refused to present her proficiency certificates. However, the Taipei High Court decided that the university has autonomy over the design of courses and the graduation requirements and it was not illegal to do so.
